Based on novel (1873) of writer Lev Tolstoy. 1904 year. The Russo-Japanese War. Manchuria. The Russian military hospital, retreating, occupies a semi-abandoned Chinese village. The head of the hospital, Sergei Karenin, learns that the wounded officer he is operating, Count Vronsky, is the one who ruin his mother, Anna Karenina, and served as an indirect cause of his father’s death. Not feeding illusions and not expecting an answer, Karenin nevertheless goes to Vronsky and asks the question that tormented him all his life: what caused his mother to cross the line? Count Vronsky, in turn, learns that the doctor is the same Sergei Karenin. After some doubts, the count agrees to tell the story of his tragic love to Anna Karenina, noting that people remember only what they are comfortable remembering.

Though armed only with standard issue Mosin-Nagant infantry rifles and DP and PM-M1910 machine guns, all useless against tanks, and with wholly inadequate RPG-40 anti-tank grenades and PTRD-41 anti-tank rifles, they fought tirelessly and defiantly, with uncommon bravery and unwavering dedication, to protect Moscow and their Motherland

Movie describes real events that took place in 1983 when seven young Georgians, all from intellectual elite families, attampted to flee the Soviet Union by hijacking an airliner. The crisis ended with a storming of the airliner by Soviet special forces that resulted in eight dead. The surviving hijackers were subsequently tried and executed.

India was closest to Russia through the Bombay film industry (Bollywood), the most dazzling dimension of India's soft power. Names of Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Mithun Chakraborty are known by generations of Russians, while “Seeta aur Geeta” is synonymous with friendship and faithfulness. Russian film days in Mumbai, organized by Russia's National rights holders support Fund and Filmmakers' Union, is a first attempt by Russian authorities and film industry pioneers to revive lost cinematic bonds between the two countries. Russian film days will become an annual event, said Maria Lemesheva, editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter Russia, and head of the Russian delegation.
